Our Client is a fast-growing social enterprise located in Kaduna, Nigeria, that believes in the power of local production for local consumption. Our company aims to supply 15% of the processed agricultural product market in Nigeria within the next 5 years, sourcing agricultural products from smallholder farmers within our network and making high-quality branded consumer products for Nigeria and West Africa.

Job Description

·         Create and implement a RTM, Sales and distribution strategy that enables the organization to meet its fast-growing volume and revenue targets.

·         Build and manage a national sales force capable of driving 10 billion naira per year of revenue through FMCG product sales.

·         Provide strategic direction/input for development of Distributor, Channel and Field Sales strategies in line with TJ growth plan.

·         Build and manage a best-in-class multi-channel, multi-segment marketing team based on industry-leading insights.

·         Liaise with other departments to guide a unified approach to revenue assurance, customer service, warehousing, distribution etc.

·          “Listen” to the trends in the market, and direct market research efforts of the company.

·         Drive coordinated sales and marketing strategies to support overall goals and objectives.

·         Plan and organize marketing functions and operations (product development, branding, communications etc.), and ensure they project the company’s unique “voice.”

·         Design and coordinate promotional campaigns, PR and other marketing efforts across multiple channels (digital, press etc.).

·         Create a solid network of strategic partnerships internal & external

·         BSc/BA in business administration, marketing, communications or relevant field; MSc/MA will be a plus proven experience as Chief Commercial/ marketing officer or similar role.

·         Advanced capabilities in MS Office (including PowerPoint and Excel)


Experiences: (What experience brings success to this role)

·         10+ years of work experience in a Sales and/or marketing role for an FMCG company, with demonstrated career growth and at least 3+ years in a senior leadership position

·         Experience building FMCG distribution channels in Nigeria, West Africa, or similar market

·         Proven experience as chief marketing officer, national head of sales, or similar role

·         Solid understanding of market research and data analysis methods

·         Demonstrated ability to motivate and develop large teams

·         A very good Leader and Coach

·         Advance knowledge of Business strategy development

·         Advance knowledge of core Commercial Planning process (Market Execution, Demand Planning, Battle Plan, Risk & Opportunities, RiRo, SLOBs mgt. etc.)

·         Advance Knowledge of Field Sales, Distributor and Channel management.

·         Good knowledge of the business environment and competition strategy.

·         Excellent written and verbal communication

·         Negotiation skills and contracting experience

·         Results-oriented, numbers-driven

·         A leader with both creative and analytical capabilities
