Job Description

·         Negotiate with suppliers to agree contract terms and conditions that will achieve the interests of the organisation.

·         Appraise vendor manufacturing ability through on-site visit and inspection.

·         Evaluate potential suppliers’ prequalification or pre-contract assessments using pre-qualification criteria or processes and make recommendations.

·         Maintain an up-to-date supplier database processes to facilitate transparent quotation processes and tender processes.

·         Promote invitations to tender taking into account the requirements of stakeholders.

·         Improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the organisation's distribution systems.

·         Ensure that documents used in the transportation of supplies (delivery note, receipt log etc) are completed and authorised correctly.

·         Ensure that agreement with the third-party logistics companies is fair and adhered to by both parties.

·         Ensure purchasing strategies (either through supplier or local store) support organisational strategy.’

·         Manage the activities around sale of obsolete assets to interested internal stakeholders

·         Update supply chain processes, such as workflows, cycle times, position responsibilities or system flows to ensure efficiency.

·         Monitor forecast to identify changes or to determine their effect on supply chain activities.

·         Collaborate with other departments, such as procurement, quality assurance to identify or qualify new suppliers.

·         Recommend strategic choices to improve the organization’s short and long performance

·         Monitor pricing arrangements in commercial agreements to ensure effective price and cost management.

·         Oversee the negotiation of prices, contracts and preparation of SLAs for all company supply category.



·         Have a practical understanding of the relationship between the efficiency of resources, processes and profit.

·         Minimum of BSc/HND in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration or any related discipline

·         Minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain, warehouse and logistics

·         Experience working with an ERP inventory system, particularly Oddo.

·         Practical knowledge in inventory planning and warehousing management

·         Working knowledge of lean and six sigma tools and techniques will be an advantage

·         Membership of a relevant professional body - Chartered Institute of   Logistics and Supply Chain Management

·         Ability to communicate verbally and on paper.

·         Ability to communicate effectively to all stakeholders with clarity of ideas and points.

·         Ability to obtain supplies at the best cost and terms

·         Ability to use Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint and Excel), and ERP/business intelligence applications.

·         Ability to plan and organise and to set priorities in order to meet deadlines and ensure

·         Have a practical understanding of the relationship between the efficiency of resources, processes and profit.
